India’s latest demigod of cricket, a brightly shining star in a pantheon of international mega sports stars, and India’s Test Captain, Virat Kohli has entered the luxury realms of the Mumbai Realty World, with his recent acquisition, a 7171 square feet sea-facing, five bedroom apartment in one of the most luxurious towers of south Mumbai.

The most valuable player of the recently concluded IPL 2016 has reportedly entered into a deal with Omkar Realtors and Developers to purchase a five bedroom 35th floor luxury apartment in its residential project Omkar 1973. Rising gloriously above the city’s skyline, overlooking the Arabian Sea, the three towers of the complex soaring 76 storeys, 75 storeys and 60 storeys respectively, have an august personality poised to become its newest resident.

The apartment in tower ‘C’ is going to cost the super-star a cool 34 crores, who is supposed to be worth $63 million, according to reliable sources. The super star will have the company of his team mate and friend Yuvraj Singh who also owns an apartment on the 29 floor. The apartment will be delivered as a bare-shell structure, which will be later on customized to create a lavish five bedroom house.

Built over 10,000 square feet, the apartment complex will house amenities over a spread of 2.5 lakh square feet. With an aqua gym, a sky lounge and bar, a squash court, jogging circuit and sporting arenas, this pavilion can host a multitude of sporting events and boasts of two infinity pools. The apartments have a sprawling living room inclusive of dining and seating areas, bedrooms with spa bathrooms, children’s rooms, state-of-the-art gym, a cigar room, kitchen and a servant’s room with its own kitchen. An undertaking of some global giants like UK’s Foster+ Partners, Buro Happold, LDA, HBA and ESPA, the project is a first for its design and amenities.

Enquiries with the developers Omkar Realtors and Developers were declined while Kohli’s spokesperson has not replied to repeated emails.

The project which comprises three towers has over 400 ‘Sky Bungalows’ ranging from 3,000 square feet to 18,000 square feet, which are priced between 15 crores to 100 crores. These sky bungalows allow the scintillating experience of waking up to invigorating sunrises and settling for the night on an alfresco deck to a star speckled clear sky. With an unrivalled view, crisp virginal air, and absolute noise-free existence, these sprawling residences are a boon for citizen of a city cramped for space and solitude. Prospective buyers include eminent personalities from the fields of business, finance, banking, sports, jewellery and gems, industry and others.

The developers have sold about 70 percent of their inventory and are expected to hand over apartments up to 30 floors of tower ‘A’ by the end of December 2016 and tower ‘C’ by mid 2018, where Kohli has his dream home.

The 27 year old has been in the news lately for things besides cricket, having crossed the 100 crores mark in brand endorsements. Kohli endorses 13 brands and also owns equity in six enterprises including Chisel Fitness (chain of gyms) and (clothing line) Wrogn, UAE Royals, (a Dubai tennis team of IPTL), FC Goa (a franchise of ISL), Bengaluru Yodhas (Pro wrestling League) and Sports Convo (a London based tech start-up). Sources report that he is planning to launch a range of perfumes and a technology venture in the future.

Kohli presently resides in Delhi, where he has several properties.
