Gurugram:

Australia-based digital real estate advertising giant, REA Group, is set to open its first India Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Gurugram this October. The company plans to increase its India-based workforce to represent 10% of its global team within the next two years, according to Steve Maidment, the company’s chief technology officer.

Innovation Hub to Leverage Indian Talent

REA Group, which owns prominent Indian proptech firms such as Housing.com, Makaan.com, and PropTiger.com through its subsidiary REA India, is establishing the new innovation centre in Gurugram’s Cyber City. The centre aims to tap into India’s vast talent pool in data, cloud computing, AI, and product development to create cutting-edge solutions for its Australian market.

Collaboration with Australian Teams

Maidment emphasized that the Gurugram-based teams will collaborate closely with their Australian counterparts to enhance REA Group’s leading products and platforms. These efforts will be geared toward delivering exceptional user experiences for millions of consumers throughout the property journey.

Initial Hiring of Skilled Tech Professionals Ahead of the centre’s launch, REA Group intends to hire 70 highly skilled tech professionals, focusing on areas critical to the development and support of the company’s global operations.
