Document registration is now easier for Mumbai homebuyers. Recently, the government announced that buyers no longer need to visit the sub-registrar's office where the property is located. Their property paperwork may be registered in any joint sub-registrar's office in Mumbai.

February 2024 saw record property registrations in Mumbai's real estate market. Under the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) authority, 12,040 units were registered by 8 p.m. on Thursday, with predictions of a little rise.

Greater Mumbai (area under BMC jurisdiction) registered 9,729 property registrations in June 2023, generating Rs 804 crore in revenue for the state government.
