Canadian investment giant Brookfield Asset Management will pay $550 million (INR 4,594 crore) to purchase a majority interest in Tamil Nadu-based renewable energy platform Leap Green Energy. Commercial and industrial (C&I) users use this platform for renewable energy solutions.

Brookfield Asset Management, a renowned global institutional investor, aims to spend $10 billion in Indian real estate in three to five years.

Brookfield India Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) and Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC have formed an equal partnership to acquire two large commercial properties totaling 6.5 million square feet from Brookfield Asset Management's private real estate funds.
