India's real estate investment trust (REIT) market grew 31% in 2023, the most in Asia-Pacific, despite a 7% fall overall the $252 billion Asian REIT industry. This increase bodes well for investors in India's young but growing REIT industry.

According to a report by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Knight Frank, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), flexible and co-working spaces, and the IT sector will drive office space demand in India to 1.7 billion square feet by 2030.

Commercial purchases in Bengaluru fell 14.3% to 12.5 million square feet in 2023. Knight Frank India ascribed this decline to US inflation and a slowing technology industry, which drives Bengaluru's office space demand.
