A plan to construct a new expressway adjacent to the Mumbai-Pune Expressway is now underway. The first phase of this project will stretch from JNPA (Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority) to Chowk (Karjat). The highway will later extend from Chowk towards Pune and eventually reach Bengaluru.

After strong increase in the previous two fiscal years, construction equipment sales were unchanged in the first quarter. Road building project awards slowed and elections lowered demand, causing this stalemate.

In a pivotal development that promises to reshape the daily commute for thousands, the Gurgaon section of the Dwarka Expressway has received the official nod from Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways.
