MahaRERA has introduced a two-year tenure limit for Self-Regulatory Organisation (SRO) appointees to enhance transparency and ensure subject matter expertise in real estate project registrations.

MahaRERA has frozen 1,950 project accounts across Maharashtra in a crackdown on non-compliant developers, aiming to enforce accountability and protect homebuyers affected by delays and incomplete projects.

According to Delhi real estate market reports, several developers are avoiding registering their projects with the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) despite the necessity to do so whenever the developed area surpasses 500 square mtrs, regardless of the number of flats constructed on the plot.
