With NCR’s pollution levels soaring, interest in second homes in hill stations like Dehradun, Kasauli, Rishikesh, Nainital, and Shimla has skyrocketed. Queries for these scenic getaways have more than doubled, as middle-class buyers from NCR seek budget-friendly escapes within driving distance.

Following the epidemic, second homes in India have become more popular as people flee polluted cities and regard them as great investments. In Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, Jim Corbett, Rishikesh, Nainital, and Kasauli are popular vacation rental destinations.

Leisure Hotels Group (LHG), the biggest resort company in Uttarakhand and recognised for its immersive resorts in North India, has signed a new "Bedzzz" hotel in Goa, a major Indian vacation destination. LHG's third Bedzzz hotel in India follows successful debuts in Varanasi and Rishikesh.

From January 2022 to October 2023, Indian real estate developers bought 3,294 acres of property, 44.4% of which was in Tier 2 and 3 cities.
