Gabriel India and Inalfa to Produce Sunroofs in Chennai

Auto parts manufacturer Gabriel India signed a technical collaboration and alliance agreement with Inalfa Roof Systems of the Netherlands.

Inalfa Gabriel Sunroof Systems (IGSS) will become operational in the first quarter of 2024 after the two companies invest a total of 170 crore INR to establish a new manufacturing facility in Chennai. 

The facility will be capable of producing 200,000 sunroofs annually. The publicly traded arm of the USD 2 billion Anand Group is Gabriel India.

After obtaining regulatory approvals later this year, Inalfa Roof Systems Group and Gabriel India will convert IGSS into a joint venture, with the former holding 51%. 

Anand Group executive chairman Anjali Singh stated that the Indian market's demand for sunroofs is expanding rapidly.
