Google Adds to its London Real Estate Empire With a USD 1 Billion Office Purchase

Google has paid USD1 billion for colorful office space in London while it waits for the construction of its long-delayed U.K. headquarters to be completed.
The internet behemoth revealed recently that it has purchased the whole Central St. Giles building in London's West End, where it already has a number of floors.
"Our investment in this spectacular Renzo Piano-designed facility reflects our sustained belief in the workplace as a space for in-person collaboration and connection," Ronan Harris, vice president and managing director of Google U.K. and Ireland, said in a blog post.
The internet behemoth said recently that it has purchased the whole Central St. Giles building, where it already has a number of floors.
Google's main office in the United Kingdom is located in the recently gentrified King's Cross district on the northern outskirts of the city centre.
Google has acquired many offices in the neighbourhood, although its main headquarters in the United Kingdom are currently under development.
