Bharat Mart: India's Visionary Warehouse Project in UAE

Set to be operational by 2025, Bharat Mart is India's pioneering warehousing facility in the United Arab Emirates. This initiative, akin to China's Dragon Mart, is designed to enable Indian exporters to collectively showcase their products. While still in the planning phase, Bharat Mart is expected to spread over 100,000 square meters, combining warehousing, retail, and hospitality into a multifaceted complex.

Boosting Trade: India and UAE's Collaborative Vision

This project plays a vital role in strengthening India-UAE trade relations, particularly in non-petroleum sectors. In line with the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), Bharat Mart is a strategic move towards achieving the ambitious goal of increasing bilateral trade to $100 billion by 2030. Situated in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), a DP World company, Bharat Mart is positioned to be a significant distribution hub for Indian exports.

Global Expansion and Efficiency: The Advantages of Bharat Mart

Abdulla Al Hashmi, COO of Parks and Zones at DP World GCC, highlights Bharat Mart's potential as a global distribution center. This hub is not just beneficial for trade with the Middle East but also opens doors to African, European, and American markets. By reducing shipping time and costs, Bharat Mart promises efficiency and broader access for Indian exports. The facility, encompassing retail showrooms, warehouses, offices, and support services, is designed to handle a wide range of goods, from perishables to heavy machinery. Furthermore, plans for a digital platform will enable global buyers to easily procure goods from Bharat Mart.

Empowering Indian Exporters: Bharat Mart's Strategic Role

Ajay Sahai, Director General of the Federation of Indian Export Organisations, underscores Bharat Mart's significance for Indian exporters. By providing a dedicated space in a strategic location, it enables Indian products to be showcased to a vast array of international buyers, particularly those in the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia. The facility's financing options and logistical support in the UAE further streamline the export process, making it a game-changer for Indian trade.
