The remaining stretch will open by December 2024, completing this crucial line. Once the full line is functional, it is expected to serve 17 lakh passengers daily, significantly reducing travel time and offering a more sustainable transit option.

Impact on Mumbai Real Estate Market

The introduction of Aqua Line 3 is expected to have a substantial positive impact on Mumbai’s real estate market. Micro-markets around metro stations, particularly in Worli, BKC, and Cuffe Parade, are already seeing an uptick in property values. For instance, property prices in Worli have surged by 20.9% over the past three years, and further appreciation is likely once the metro becomes operational.

Latest Updates: Aqua Line 3

The Maharashtra Government, in its first cabinet meeting under Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, approved a ₹1,163 crore disbursement directly to the MMRC, expediting the construction of Aqua Line 3. Despite minor delays, the entire line is now on track for completion by December 2024.

Why Aqua Line 3 Matters

Decongests Traffic: By offering a modern, efficient alternative to road travel, the metro is expected to reduce traffic congestion by up to 15%.

Improved Connectivity: With direct links to business hubs and residential zones, this metro line will significantly ease travel across the city.

Sustainable Transport: The fully underground construction ensures minimal environmental impact, while boosting urban mobility.

Conclusion: The Future of Mumbai’s Transit

The Mumbai Metro Aqua Line 3 promises to be a game-changer for the city’s public transportation system. With its efficient design, strategic route, and substantial real estate impact, it is set to elevate Mumbai’s status as a global urban hub. Once fully operational, it will provide Mumbaikars with a faster, cleaner, and more convenient way to traverse the city.
