The logistics policy of Arunachal Pradesh has been approved by the state cabinet, ensuring that it is in accordance with the PM Gati Shakti framework. The objective of this policy is to optimise the state's integrated development by the year 2047.
The objective of the policy is to fortify a multimodal, integrated logistics ecosystem.
The Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, has acknowledged the potential for expansion that recent enhancements in connectivity infrastructure provide. The National Logistics Policy, which aimed to increase efficiency and decrease expenses, was established in 2022.
By 2047, the Policy intends to have established an all-encompassing, multimodal logistics ecosystem that will facilitate progress and advancement in Arunachal Pradesh.
The PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, which aims to establish multimodal connectivity infrastructure for economic zones, was initiated in 2021. The policy identifies the following as key initiatives: the Arunachal Frontier Highway connecting Nafra and Vijoynagar; the establishment of nine new industrial areas; a special economic zone (SEZ) in Balinong; a warehouse facility for the Itanagar Capital Complex in Chimpu; and a logistics hub in Namsai.
These projects have already been proposed for financing under the scheme.
