Affordable Homes in Assam Through Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) program

This is certainly excellent news for Assam homebuyers seeking affordable housing in their state.

The Assam government has announced that more than three lakh affordable homes have been sanctioned under the flagship Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) initiative.

According to Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass, the Union Ministry of Rural Development has assigned Assam a goal of 3,31,193 homes under the ambit of PMAY-G.

Earlier in 2023 January, the Panchayat and Rural Development Department of Assam approved 3,04,218 homes for beneficiaries, and more than 10 lakh houses under PMAY-G in the final nine months of the current fiscal year, he said.

The Minister also indicated that the department has taken all necessary procedures to properly execute the programme in Assam, and that the first payment to recipients who have been accepted for a home within the last week would be paid soon to allow them to start construction of their dream homes.
