The RNP (Required Navigation Performance) process for both approaches (numbers 10 and 28) of the brand-new Runway at the future New Goa International Airport has been successfully completed by GMR Goa International Airport (GGIAL), a subsidiary of GMR Airports (GAL).
Indigo Airlines' Airbus 320, fitted with RNP technology, was used to verify the reliability and safety of RNP during flight testing.
New Goa International Airport receives its first commercial flights and launches its first departures.
RNP is a group of navigation standards inside PBN that allow for very accurate flight path operation and the ability to precisely and reliably detect the location of an aircraft. Adding RNP radius to fixed arrivals, approaches, and departures enhances airspace capacity by decreasing the length of the approach and departure routes.
CEO of GGIAL RV Sheshan remarked, "Today, we have completed the Required Navigation Performance Procedure at the future New Goa International Airport. Using on-board technology, a plane may stay on predetermined flight routes with the aid of the RNP technique, which guarantees both precision and reliability. Due to its precision and accuracy, this process not only improves operating efficiency by reducing the need for several step-downs, incorrect circular approaches, etc., but also contributes to greater safety.
By realising Goa's full potential, GGIAL, as the airport's operator, is striving to make New Goa International Airport the airport of choice for airlines, passengers, and all stakeholders. The construction of the new international airport in Goa promises to boost the state's economy and provide a slew of new job opportunities.
