Worli, South Mumbai

Four girders for the bridge connecting Worli to the Coastal Road and Bandra-Worli Sea-Link will be installed in March, with the entire bridge expected to be operational by May, 2024. This step is part of the larger Mumbai Coastal Road Project (MCRP), aimed at enhancing connectivity in the region.

Strategic Execution Amidst Natural Challenges

The assembly and painting of the girders are completed before transportation to the bridge site via barge, considering tidal variations for efficient execution. The process signifies meticulous planning to accommodate the complexities of marine construction.

Revolutionizing Urban Infrastructure

The bridge, spanning 850 meters, will include 270 meters of steel and 580 meters of concrete sections. This structure is designed for stability and durability, featuring arch-shaped girders to provide additional strength. Both ends of the bridge, south towards Worli-Marine Drive and north in reverse direction, will facilitate improved traffic flow.

Advanced Logistics and Assembly

The assembly of the bridge's components demands precise planning, especially given the limited land availability for girder launching. The "float-over" technology is employed to maneuver the heavy girders, sourced from Abu Dhabi due to the site's maritime location, underscoring the project's logistical complexity.
